Drainage and Foundations

  • Lot grading must be away from the foundations walls to prevent water ingress.
  • Perimeter drainage is important in keeping the foundation walls dry.
  • Waterproofing of the foundation walls to prevent water ingress where water tables are high.
  • Avoid building on a flood plain.
  • Perimeter drain tiles takes away ground seeping water into a storm sewer.
  • Roof drainage has it's separate in ground PVC pipes to take the roof water to the storm sewer. When the Roof water and the foundation water is collected into a single drain tile system it becomes problematic.
  • We recommend that a licensed drainage contractor to perform camera scoping of all the drainage systems for it's reliability and for obstructions inside the pipe.
